Every person strives to operate in their full potential. It’s difficult but there are a lot of things we can do to achieve that or at least get close to that point.

So, how to live up to your full potential? You might be asking…

Let me share some insights with you about that.

Accept Yourself As You Are

The first step is accepting yourself as you are. A lot of people live in a constant state of self-judgement, not feeling worthy. They often stop themselves from going forward by allowing their self-defeating thoughts taking control over their actions.

They are sabotaging themselves to not achieving their full potential, before they even started trying to explore it. Because it is vitally important that you believe and trust in yourself. That is a fundamental prerequisite if you want to grow and evolve as a human being.

“Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve.” Napoleon Hill

But let’s say you don’t like some traits of your personality or there are some areas in your life that are a complete mess at the moment, like your diet or your finances for example.

First of all, don’t overthink these less positive aspects of your life. Don’t beat yourself up. Just acknowledge them and set them as a starting point towards a better version of yourself.

Use them as motivation. By instance, if you are not satisfied with your current physical aspect, you can try thinking this way: “I don’t like the way I look right now. I lost control over my weight. I want to weight x. What can I do to achieve that? What micro actions can I introduce in my day to day life to achieve that? I should do this and that. I am going to do it for three months and see the results, check how I feel then. I am going to take it as a challenge.”

Use it as a challenge! Don’t waste your time being demotivated. Because the sooner you take action, the sooner you are going to reap the results you want.

Stop Caring About What Others Think About You

We’re hardwired to crave acceptance and social approval. That’s why we tend to overthink what others think about us.

The reality is that everyone is more interested in what is going on in their own lives than in anyone else’s.

Even if someone had some judgmental thought about you, why would you allow that to have some kind of influence in your life? It doesn’t matter at all.

Try this exercise: Think about some weird situation that you experienced in your life years ago or even months ago. Think about how you felt. Maybe cringy, uncomfortable. Now, think how that specific situation is impacting your life at this moment, right now.

No impact, right? That weird, uncomfortable situation has no impact in your present moment. At all!

But think how you rationalize it when it happened. You gave it a lot of importance at that moment.

But right now it doesn’t matter. If you think it does, I would suggest you let it go and move on with your life.

So my point is, we tend to overthink other people’s opinions and most of the times that has a negative impact on our lives because it stops us from taking action towards what we want.

Get Disciplined

How many times have you thought about doing something for a period of time but then you didn’t and you felt miserable about it and hated yourself?

The keyword of what went wrong is discipline. You didn’t take consistent action. Because if we think about it, that times when we planned to do something for a period of time and we actually did it, how did that make us feel?

Great and proud of ourselves, right?

Because we set a goal, a challenge to ourselves and we overcame all the obstacles that came up during the path. And that made us feel good. It gave us that amazing feeling of accomplishment.

So, when you think about how to live up to your full potential, discipline is something I would highly recommend to bring up to the equation. Discipline is probably one of the biggest prerequisites to live a joyful and happy life.

Embrace Failure

Failure is one of the most important variables if you are wondering how to live up to your full potential. Failure is part of the path to success in everything we do.

We know that at the beginning of our lives but we tend to forget it as we get older.

One day, I was seated in a park bench. There was this couple taking a walk with their little child. The kid was between 1 or 2 years old, I guess, because he was still in the process of learning how to walk. At some point, he tripped on a little pebble and fell down. Now comes the lesson I learned from that little kid.

Let’s call that fall a micro failure in the process of learning how to walk. What the kid did was amazing. He didn’t just immediately stand up but also stepped back, looked at the little pebble that make him fell down, acknowledge it as an obstacle and this time lifted his foot a bit more in order to not falling down again. So, by deconstructing that situation we can learn that when we face some adversity in our lives or we fail during the process of achieving something, a good way to lead with it is to acknowledge the failure, not beating ourselves up, think about what it went wrong, how we can overcome it, do it again until we do it right and move forward.

Failing it’s ok, what’s not ok is when we fail and we stay down. Whoever stays down is a loser. Winners will fail and get up, fail and get up, fail and get up. They always get up. That is a winner.

Spend Your Time Doing Something You Are Passionate About

I believe everybody has something great to offer to the world. In other words, there is at least one thing that every one of us is or could be really good at it. The problem is, the majority of people are not doing something they are passionate about. They are living their lives in survival mode, just having a job, that in most of the cases they hate, to pay their bills. They do it 5 or 6 times a week and use the other 1 or 2 days to charge energies to do it again.

There is nothing wrong with that. It is just what it is. But it is definitely dangerous living that way. In a long term perspective that can bring a lot of damage to their lives.

Depressions, anxieties, unfulfillment and the worst one, regret.

Regretting not having taken action in the right time is something that happens a lot with people that keep doing something they don’t like.

I used to live that way, and for me, that was a miserable way of living. I started having symptoms of depression, insomnia almost every night, spending weekends at home just watching TV, not feeling like being with other people. My spark of life was vanishing. And I was still in my twenties.

Now I have an online business. It’s exciting, I am always learning something new, I don’t stop evolving as a person, as a human being.

I believe everybody can take this leap from a stressful not fulfilling life to an exciting and more flexible one. The thing is, not everybody is aware of the opportunities we have in today’s digital world that allow us to make that change.

If you want to know more about these opportunities go to my Start Here page, enter your name and email on the form you will see there and you will immediately receive a free workshop videos series in your email where you will get clear clarity about the opportunities I am talking about.

Because the reality is, there are a lot of opportunities out there. But most of the times we are not aware of them, we have no idea they exist.

Step Out Of Your Comfort Zone

Stepping out of your comfort zone is vitally important on the process of growth. It is tough, but it is essential if we want to improve our skills and evolve as a person.

We are wired as human beings to stay in the comfort zone. But that doesn’t bring any value to our lives, it doesn’t allow us to progress.

The “easiest” way to grow is stepping into the unknown. So, every time you are about to do something that is going to make you feel uncomfortable, and you are unsure of whether to do it or not, there is a good trick to take that decision. Don’t think and go for it!

At the end of that event, you are going to be a better version of yourself.

So, wrapping all this up. The most important thing is enjoying the process of self-growth, being kind with ourselves and keep overcoming all the adversities that we face during the course of our lives.
